The King of Beaujolais at Boys Hall
An Evening with Édouard Parinet
Step into our magnificent drawing room for an extraordinary evening with Édouard Parinet, the man quietly redefining what Beaujolais and Pouilly-Fuissé can be.
Édouard is the driving force behind two exceptional estates. At Château du Moulin-à-Vent — one of the most historic properties in Beaujolais, with roots stretching back to 1732 — he and the Parinet family have transformed the estate since purchasing it in 2009, converting all vineyards to organic viticulture and producing wines of genuine elegance and age-worthiness. These are serious, refined wines with far more in common with their Burgundian neighbours than the simple, fruity Beaujolais Nouveau the region is so often — and so unfairly — judged by.
For those craving a Burgundy fix, Édouard also owns Domaine du Roc des Boutires in Pouilly-Fuissé, just thirty minutes from Moulin-à-Vent. His white wines here have been attracting serious critical acclaim and are among the most precise and elegant expressions to be found in the region.
Over the course of the evening Édouard will guide us through a range of single-vineyard wines, exploring how different soils and aspects profoundly shape what ends up in your glass — a masterclass in terroir as much as a dinner. Our chefs have created a menu using the finest seasonal Kent produce, with each course thoughtfully designed to complement the wines.
