English Wine Garden Supper
The Crouch Valley is fast becoming one of the most exciting wine regions in the world. A warm, dry pocket of Essex with the soils and climate to produce English still wines of real seriousness – the kind of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that genuinely belong in the same conversation as Burgundy.
We're devoting an evening to it. On 23rd June, the gardens at Boys Hall become a long table for a summer feast cooked entirely over open fire, in the company of the winemakers from Hollands and Danbury Ridge – two of the region's most compelling names. Both will be pouring through the meal and talking through what they're making and why.
